Privacy Policy for SafarNote App

1. Introduction

SafarNote is a productivity application developed by Rumaji. It helps users manage notes, tasks, checklists, habits, reminders, and other personal productivity information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information SafarNote collects or stores, how it is used, how it may be shared, and how users can manage or delete their data.

2. Data Collection

Depending on the features you use, SafarNote may collect, store, or process the following types of information.

Personal Information

  • Email address: May be accessed when you use Google Sign-In for Google Drive Backup and Restore.

Photos and Videos

  • Photos: Images associated with notes or tasks may be stored and processed when you use relevant app features.
  • Videos: If video content is supported and accessed by a feature, it may be processed for that feature.

Files and Documents

  • Notes, tasks, checklists, and other user-generated content.
  • Supported files, images, drawings, and attachments associated with notes and tasks.
  • App data included in a Google Drive backup.

App Activity

  • App interactions and screen views used to understand app usage and improve functionality.
  • Other content you create or enter into the app, such as notes and tasks.

App Information and Performance

  • Crash logs and technical diagnostic information that help identify and fix app problems.
  • App version, operating-system information, and other technical information that may be included in diagnostic reports.

Device or Other IDs

  • Device or other identifiers may be processed by analytics or other services, depending on their configuration.

3. Notes, Tasks, Scan/OCR, and Voice Input

Scan/OCR and Voice Input are tools available within SafarNote’s Notes and Tasks features.

Notes and Tasks

You can create, edit, manage, and delete notes, tasks, checklists, and related information.

The app may store images, drawings, and other supported attachments associated with your notes and tasks.

Scan/OCR

Scanning and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) help capture or extract text from supported content for use in notes or tasks.

Information produced through scanning or OCR may become part of the content you choose to save in the app.

The processing method depends on the implementation of the feature and the services used.

Voice Input

SafarNote allows users to convert speech into text in Notes and Tasks using the Voice Input feature. Voice recognition may be handled by the speech recognition service available on the user’s device. How voice input is processed depends on the service and device settings.

4. Local Data Storage

SafarNote stores supported app information locally on your device. This may include notes, tasks, habits, reminders, settings, images, drawings, and other content associated with the features you use.

The main productivity features are designed to work with locally stored information. An internet connection is required for features that communicate with online services, such as Google Drive Backup and Restore.

Uninstalling the app, resetting your device, or clearing its app data may result in the loss of locally stored information.

5. How We Use Your Data

SafarNote uses information to provide its features, maintain app functionality, and improve app stability.

Privacy: We do not routinely access or review the contents of your private notes and tasks. However, information may be processed by third-party services, such as Google Drive, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, when you use the relevant features. Such processing is subject to the applicable services’ terms, privacy policies, and configurations.

Notes and Tasks: Your notes, tasks, checklists, habits, reminders, and related content are stored locally on your device. If you choose to use Google Drive Backup and Restore, supported app data may also be backed up to your Google Drive.

Google Sign-In: An existing Google Account is used only to access the Google Drive Backup and Restore feature. SafarNote does not create a separate SafarNote user account.

Analytics and Crash Reporting: We use Firebase Analytics to understand app interactions and usage patterns and to improve app functionality. Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify crashes, diagnose technical issues, and improve app stability.

No Advertising or Marketing Use: We do not use the contents of your private notes, tasks, or other personal content for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Google Sign-In

Google Sign-In is used for Google Drive Backup and Restore.

SafarNote does not create a separate SafarNote user account through Google Sign-In. Signing in allows you to access the Google Drive functionality you choose to use.

When you use these features, the app may access the Google account you select and request the permissions required for backup or restoration.

Your use of Google Sign-In and Google Drive is also subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

7. Google Drive Backup and Restore

Google Drive Backup

When you initiate a backup, SafarNote creates a backup containing supported app information.

Depending on your data and the backup format, this may include:

  • Notes and task-related information.
  • Supported app data and preferences.
  • Associated images, drawings, and other supported files.
  • Backup metadata, such as the creation time and format version.

A backup may contain more than just the text of your notes. Review the information you store in the app before creating a backup.

SafarNote stores backups in the configured Google Drive location. Google Drive is a third-party service governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policies.

Google Drive Restore

When you choose Restore, SafarNote retrieves a compatible backup from Google Drive and restores supported app information.

Restoring a backup may replace existing local information covered by that backup. A backup may not contain your most recent local changes.

Internet Connection

Google Drive Backup and Restore require an internet connection and successful access to the selected Google account.

If authentication, network access, or Google Drive operations fail, the backup or restore may not complete.

8. Firebase Analytics

SafarNote uses Firebase Analytics to help understand app usage and improve functionality.

Depending on the app configuration and events enabled, Analytics may process app interactions, screen views, app usage events, and related technical information.

Analytics information may be processed by Google Firebase under Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

Firebase Analytics is separate from the local storage used for notes and tasks. This policy does not claim that the app sends the full contents of private notes or tasks to Analytics.

9. Firebase Crashlytics

SafarNote uses Firebase Crashlytics to help identify and investigate app crashes and technical problems.

Crash reports may include:

  • Crash logs and stack traces.
  • App version and operating-system information.
  • Device-related technical information.
  • Diagnostic information associated with an app failure.

This information helps identify bugs and improve app stability.

Crashlytics is a third-party service provided by Google Firebase and is subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

10. Data Sharing

SafarNote does not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by third-party services when you use features that depend on them. These services may include Google Sign-In, Google Drive, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and speech recognition services used by your device, where applicable.

The information involved depends on the feature you use and the relevant service’s configuration.

Third-party services handle information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data-handling practices.

11. Data Security

We aim to handle app information responsibly and rely on security mechanisms provided by your device, operating system, and relevant third-party services.

Data transmitted over supported secure connections is protected in transit.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and Google account.

12. Data Retention

Locally stored information remains on your device until it is deleted, removed through app or device operations, or otherwise lost.

Google Drive backups may remain in your Google Drive until they are deleted or removed through the relevant service or app functionality.

Information processed by third-party services, including analytics and crash reports, may be retained according to the relevant providers’ policies and retention practices.

Deleting local app data does not necessarily delete separately stored Google Drive backups or information already processed by third-party services.

13. Delete All Data & Backup

SafarNote provides a Delete All Data & Backup option in Settings that attempts to remove supported local app data and SafarNote backups stored in supported Google Drive locations.

When you use this option, the app attempts to:

  • Delete SafarNote backups from supported Google Drive locations.
  • Delete locally stored app data, including notes, tasks, and other supported information.

Google Drive backup deletion requires successful authentication and access to Google Drive.

Important: Before using this option, make sure you have saved any information you want to keep. Deleting data may be permanent, and you may not be able to recover it.

If a deletion operation fails, the full deletion process may not complete. You should verify the result where possible and not assume that all local and cloud data has been deleted unless the process completes successfully.

This feature does not guarantee the deletion of information already processed by Firebase or other third-party services. Such information may be retained according to the respective providers’ privacy policies and data-retention practices.

You can choose whether to use Google Drive Backup and Restore. Deleting local app data does not necessarily delete separate Google Drive backups or information already processed by third-party services.

14. Children’s Privacy

SafarNote is a productivity application.

We do not knowingly intend to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable privacy laws.

If you believe personal information has been provided inappropriately, contact us so that we can review the concern.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when SafarNote’s features, services, or data practices change.

The updated policy will be published on the Privacy Policy page with a revised “Last Updated” date.

We encourage users to review this page periodically.
